About me !

Color is my breath and my oxygen.

I am Sophie De Cort and I would like to share my passion for bookbinding with you.

I was born and educated in Belgium and have lived and worked for 18 years in Dubai. I truly enjoy loosing myself into the world of mixed media. The importance of details and millimetre work who are important in my dental work are often lost in my journals. I paint dots on almost all my pages and tend to think they are bacteria I am chasing inside root canals.

Sharing my passion with others and creating alongside people who have the same addiction gives me an enormous burst of energy and inspiration.

I now live back in Belgium along the canals in Bruges with my husband, daughter, dog and horses. The art history of Bruges enriches me on daily basis when I stroll or bike along the cobblestoned streets and endless canals.

Creating art fills up a big part of my day. Color is my breath and my oxygen.
